About the Event
As we arrive at the longest night of the year, you are invited into a very special online ceremony honouring the Winter Solstice in the company of Vozes Ancestrais – the first musical group of Indigenous Fulni-ô women from Brazil.
The Fulni-ô people are one of the few Indigenous groups in the Northeast that preserve their language and traditional rituals.
Created in 2018 by Nudhya Fulni-ô, Coletivo Eskya is a space of empowerment for Indigenous Fulni-ô women from Pernambuco, Brazil. It has become a place for sharing knowledge and building networks with women from different cultural backgrounds. From this journey, the vocal group “Vozes Ancestrais – Yafëëkhet’de Sekletxase” was born, preserving and sharing Fulni-ô culture through music.
Their songs carry spirituality, reverence, and ancestral memory, echoing the living wisdom of their people. Through the voices of the Fulni-ô women, we are welcomed into a field of prayer, presence and remembrance that reaches…
